The closer that the antenna is mounted to the center of the mower frame, the less cross-track error is introduced if magnetometer readings are inaccurate. In other words, mounting the antenna close to the center of the frame will yield truer pass-after-pass tracking if your compass experiences imprecision (which is quite common).
